METAMORPHOSING EMPTY BODY
If we want to know what Butoh dance is, we must experience it with our own body first of all. There is no given forms, rather everybody explore their own forms. When we escape from sudden fear, our bodies naturally react. That kind of movement is not habitual one imposed by society but is emerged from real emotion. Participants will be guided into deeper layer than our daily lives, but we do utilize sensations from our everyday life. For that, we need to go back to the empty body that is not self-conscious. That is to say that the body doesn't move by itself but is moved by something. And when the body is empty, we can be anything, we can realize freedom to be anything... Then do we lose our reason? No, we don't. We need to have the eyes that look at ourselves from outside. We can see our own body by having empty bodies. Seisaku will introduce various exercises of basic Butoh dance methods.
