LET'S CLICK. Embodiment of the External Genitalia
© Ludger Storcks
The Genitals (or the Genials as I heard my friend Jo saying once) are often left out in our common somatic practices. They are a tricky place to go to as they are so entagled with our gender identities.
This workshop is intended to look at the external genitalia (clitoris, penis or however you want to call them) from an embryological perspective, focusing on the development of bodily structures rather than on a fixed anatomy. This allows us a more playful approach towards the genitals. We will look at anatomical drawings and models to give us some orientation. We can use them as landmarks and from there, you will be invited to touch your own pelvis and follow the pathways of our development to find, feel, move, draw and write our own anatomy. You will not at any point of the workshop be asked to take off your clothes or touch someone else intimately. The intention is to create a space together that feels safe and open for all bodies and gender identities.
This workshop is highly inspired by the work of Nicole Bindler, who first gave me the idea to look at the genitals from an embryoligical perspective in a workshop called „Clitoral Embodiment“. Check out www.nicolebindler.com
