Behind the pleasurable sounding title there is a unique combination of text and music, discourse and sensuality, role play and social analysis. The musical reading series Porno und Piano interweaves porn dialogues with theoretical texts and works by modern poets and thinkers to create literary collages - framed and spiced with new, experimental live music.
The literary forays lead from BDSM games, voyeurism and masturbation to theoretical texts and feminist discourses on power. Excerpts from classics of world literature and lyrical works of past eras are read, as are anonymous everyday notes and pearls of pop culture. In this way, playful disturbance meets sensual longing, sex machines meet power games, and philosophy meets outlandish fetishism.
The evening audience is invited to close their eyes and briefly dream of the supposedly forbidden on a journey through the hidden pleasures of our time. Between entertainment, stimulation and pro-sex activism, Porno and Piano aims to break down inhibitions, promote permissive discussions and make a sensual-semantic contribution to an unreserved approach to sexuality and the questions it raises.
Porno and Piano premiered in its current form in winter 2015. Previous readings have taken place at the former Kaufbar in Friedrichshain, creative office e.V & Herman Schulz Café Bar, and Greenhouse Berlin.
