We leave and we leave everything behind. In this life we run away.

The steppe is empty, dead and full of dust. “Who loves me?” asks the birdman as he passes lonely through the steppe. There are those who talk, but do not listen. Those who listen, but do not understand. People of the steppe dancing sexy. Businesswomen singing songs of love. A father loosing his balance. Children’s voices and windows to the past: memories from another life. A bride all dressed up and with nowhere to go. A train station that never brings a train or those that we are waiting for.
Didn’t it happen like this? When we were not us, we wanted to be a part of everything and wanted everything to go away. We wanted to belong here and not there. We wanted to fall and not to stay lying down. We wanted to love and wanted to remain alone.
What is to be left behind and what are we going to move on for? Abandoned in the steppe, we are going to search for the emptiness inside us and for that which dwells in it.
