In the early 1970s, summers in Argentina were revolutionised by the invention of the Pelopincho: a low-cost, dismountable pool that could be placed on balconies, patios and gardens, democratising the feeling of holidays for all those who had to endure the summer heat in the city. For many generations, and for ours too, the Pelopincho became synonymous with happiness and marked the urban landscapes of our childhood in the 90s. “Die Zeit in den Dingen: PELOPINCHO” is an homage to this object from our life abroad in Berlin, and a material, performative and musical exploration of the time contained in it.
“PELOPINCHO” takes place within the framework of “Die Zeit in den Dingen” (‘Time within things’), a performative working process by Vöcks de Schwindt about the ability of everyday objects to store memories and stories within them, threatened by the planned obsolescence and a throw-away society.
A production by Vöcks de Schwindt within the performative working process “Die Zeit in den Dingen”, supported by Fonds Darstellende Künste with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media within the program NEUSTART KULTUR. In collaboration with TATWERK | Performative Forschung.

The joint works of the Argentinian-German directors duo Vöcks de Schwindt range from documentary and performative works, to multilingual drama productions and music theatre. They are currently exploring questions of migrant identities, queer heritage, male tenderness and the performativity of objects.
Their documentary performance “On the first night we looked at maps – Los Alemanes del Volga” was chosen in 2020 for the newcomer's platform of the Performing Arts Festival Berlin and invited to festivals and theaters such as the Furore festival (Ludwigsburg), the festival Verso Sud (Corato, Italy) and Altofest (Naples, Italy and Valletta, Malta) as well as the TD Berlin or the WUK Theater Quartier in Halle/Saale. The premiere of their play “EPISODIO” took place in 2021 at TD Berlin. In addition to their work in Berlin, they began working increasingly in Leipzig at the beginning of 2022, where they premiered “Ubi caritas et amor” at LOFFT – DAS THEATER in February of the same year - a work of music theatre that pits Gregorian chant against dribbling basketballs- on a quest for forms of closeness and intimacy between men. In June 2023 they gave their debut at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin directing Schubert's “Winterreise” in a staged production.
The Argentinian actress and musician Gabriela Turano has lived and worked in Berlin since 2012. She graduated in acting at the Escuela Metropolitana de Arte Dramático in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in 2008. Since 2010 she has been part of the music project "Los Mares". Her latest projects include the research "Beautiful" on the theme of eroticism, funded by the Fonds Darstellende Künste (2022), the VR & Live Performance "TransMatria" by Rocio Marano at Radialsystem, Cordillera and Fortuna Berlin (2022), the drama production "EPISODIO" by Federico Vöcks de Schwindt & Ensemble at TD Berlin (2021) and the audiovisual performance "Non fiction time" developed together with Paula Baldini at Centro Cultural General San Martin (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 2021).
