In Germany, hundreds of billions of euros are inherited each year to the quickly approaching “richest generation of heirs ever”. Some individuals inherit so much money that they no longer have to work, while living next to those who earn a salary that is barely enough to live on. In a society that continues to emphasise and value the idea of achievement, large fortunes are not often earned, but simply rather inherited. The live audio walk through Kreuzberg‘s Graefekiez juxtaposes the realities between the lives of heirs and non-heirs. Here class struggle meets the good life, social housings meets luxury renovation, and exhaustion.

During the tour, the two performers will talk about the touching, contradictory, and light-hearted experiences of heirs and non-heirs. At various stops, they will meet experts to learn more about inheritance. What does inheritance do to use? What do we do with it? And what are the consequences of it for our society?
