A follow-up course for all those who are already here

Schon wieder: Gebären © Frl. Wunder AG

Hello. Are you here yet? Just come in and take a seat. Welcome to our home for those who give birth and those who are born.

The Frl. Wunder AG looks back on a history of nine births and has experienced unwanted pregnancies, abortions, and the so-called morning-after pills. Some of its members are raising children they have neither conceived nor given birth to.
We invite two viewers at a time into an interactive video installation. In our little house, we report on our encounters with experts and our own lived experiences.

Supported by the Fonds Darstellende Künste with funds from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, by the Foundation of Lower Saxony, the Ministry of Science and Culture of Lower Saxony, and the City of Hanover. In cooperation with TATWERK | Performative Forschung.

Biography

Since 2004, Frl. Wunder AG has been producing stage formats, performances, and interventions in public space as a nine-member performance collective.
The content is always about pressing socio-political questions of the present time. The starting point for her works is research into contradictions and utopias, in her own life, in social fields, and at special places, on biographical traces, and with experts from science and everyday life. She integrates working methods of critical field research into her cultural-scientific and aesthetic practice, visits slaughterhouses and church archives, talks to behavioral researchers, sex workers, and politicians, or learns laughter yoga and how to speculate on the stock exchange.
Frl. Wunder AG is always trying out new theatre formats and cooperating with artists and institutions. It stages magic moments of visionary social models and everyday utopias and creates participatory spaces of experience also for those audience members who do not already belong to the classical theatre audience.
Since 2010, Frl. Wunder AG has received concept funding from the state of Lower Saxony, 2017-2021 basic funding from the city of Hanover, and 2019-2022 concept funding from the Fonds Darstellende Künste. In 2016, she was nominated for the Georg Tabori Prize of the Fonds Darstellende Künste for her work as a whole.
