Concrete meets grass, city meets stillness, and traces of past and present coexist.

The piece Von Silber zu Silber is a site-specific dance performance at Gleisdreieck, conceived and choreographed by Emma Lusena Ash and her collective DISTANT CASUALS, with music by Benjamin Bacon. It takes place under the wide open sky, in natural daylight slowly fading in to dusk.

Exploring the theme of transformation as an essential part of life, the performers embody shifting states of becoming - from stillness to eruption, from solitude to togetherness - through continuous movement, intuitive actions, and a soundscape that blends voice, music, and the noises of the city.

At once a dance and a philosophical gesture, Von Silber zu Silber calls for a collective reimagining of how we live and transform, together.

A production by Emma Lusena Ash and DISTANT CASUALS, co-produced by We are all unicorns gUG / TATWERK | Performative Forschung. Supported by the Senatsverwaltung für Kultur und gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt des Landes Berlin.

Biography

Emma Lusena Ash is a dance and performance artist from Berlin, exploring the physical and poetic dimensions of the body. She works collaboratively, approaching dance as a state of being and seeking new contexts for performance.
While studying at SEAD, she co-founded the collective DISTANT CASUALS with Lísandra Týra Jóns, Hubert Mielke, and Miquel Amengual Gual. Their work merges dance, performance, and sound through conceptual research, with improvisation and shared authorship at its core.
The collective has received support through residencies at Güldenhof (2024, 2025) and Zakrzewo, Poland (2025), funded by the EU Mobility Fund and Goethe-Institut. In 2025, Ash was awarded the Berlin Senate’s Einstiegsförderung to develop a new piece on transformation with DISTANT CASUALS.
